NRC - National Research Centre

National Research Centre (NRC, http://www.nrc.sci.eg) is a nonprofit research organization, has made significant progress in the different fields of science; it is ranked the top among the scientific centres in Egypt. It is the largest multidisciplinary R&D centre in Egypt and North Africa devoted to basic and applied research within the major fields of science, agriculture, environment, biology, chemistry, medicine, pharmaceutical, engineering and energy to cover and develop the production and service sectors. The NRC mission is to conduct basic and applied sciences within the major fields of interest to contribute for achieving sustainable development in the production and service sectors. One of the major fields in NRC is packaging materials, which has great interest and experiences in supporting Sustainable Development through applied research, as a vital system for producing healthy food and reducing environmental pollution. Food industry field in NRC is a superpower which plays an important role between the agriculture sector and the industries sector promoting cooperative research among agricultural scientists on both national and international bases. The biochemistry and pharmaceutical fields concern basic and semi-applied research in the field of drug discovery from natural sources. Develop the ways of separating and identifying the effective chemical ingredients, introduce new environmental green technology in the field of extractions. Isolate, purify and identify the different natural compounds with biological efficacy from their natural sources.
